Most of us have heard of Lavender essential oil but not so much of Lavandin. In actual fact, Lavandin is quite similar to Lavender but theirs uses are not identical.  Lavandin is actually a cross between lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) which grows at higher altitudes and spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia) which grows lower on the hillsides.

Lavandin essential oil has a slightly stronger scent which is sweet and tinged with notes of camphor as it contains between 6%-10% camphor. Unlike traditional Lavender essential oils which promote calmness and relaxation, Lavandin essential oil’s high camphor content makes for a stimulating scent to relieve anxiety, boosts self-esteem, confidence, hope and mental strength. Its rejuvenating and calming aroma enhance its soothing and stimulating features that benefit the mind and heart.

Some people use Lavandin for soap making when blending scents as this helps to intensify the lavender scent and to extend its staying power. Our Lavandin essential oil comes with herbal, camphor-like scent, has also been used in aromatherapy, making perfumes and natural products such as handmade soaps, scrubs, candles, etc.
